How to reduce body fat
If you've tried getting rid of
body fat by performing aerobic exercise at low
intensities and you're disappointed with the
results then try another way.
Athletes that perform work at
high intensities are extremely lean. For example,
an elite 100m male sprinter will be as lean
as 5% body fat but will do little or no aerobic
training.
Training at higher speeds on an
exercise
bike or a treadmill
increases your metabolism and fat burning hormones
more than lower intensity training. The effects
of high intensity training last longer too -
up to 48 hours in some instances.
Select interval-training programs
on your cardio exercise equipment for 30 minutes
and try to increase the intensity over time,
not the duration. Remember however that you
cannot train like this everyday, so 3 high intensity
sessions a week is sufficient. Include longer
low intensity sessions once or twice a week
to aid recovery and improve circulation and
well being.
